Kiawah Eye 2020 rescheduled
Kiawah Eye 2020 has been rescheduled for Sept. 11-13, 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The decision to reschedule was made based on information from the CDC, the WHO, and state and local governments.
“We rescheduled Kiawah Eye from May to September because the health and safety of attendees, faculty and industry partners cannot be put at risk. These next few weeks remain uncertain at this time, and we feel this is the best decision,” Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD, co-course director of Kiawah Eye, said in a statement.
Originally scheduled for the weekend after Memorial Day, Kiawah Eye will now take place the weekend after Labor Day, allowing attendees to enjoy the same activities including golf, tennis, hiking and biking trails, the beach, the pool and the spa, the statement said. It will be held at the same location, West Beach Conference Center on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
Attendees, exhibitors, supporters and sponsors will be asked to confirm if they can still attend or participate in September or if they need to roll over commitment to 2021 or cancel attendance, in which case cancellation fees will be waived.
Attendees who have made reservations for rooms through the official room block will have those reservations automatically canceled and a refund deposited. A new reservation will need to be made for the September dates. If reservations were made outside of the official room block, attendees need to contact the vendor directly to cancel reservations.
