Bausch + Lomb introduces FreeFlow infusion system
Bausch + Lomb has launched the FreeFlow infusion system for retina surgery, according to a press release.
The FreeFlow system allows for a higher level of infusion flow to support vitreous removal with the Bi-Blade dual port vitrectomy cutters and Vitesse hypersonic vitrectomy system, the release said.
The infusion line in the system goes over the top of the trocar cannula, instead of inside of it, increasing the size of the inner lumen.
“We developed the FreeFlow infusion system to provide surgeons with great control during their high-flow vitrectomy procedures,” Chuck Hess, vice president and general manager, U.S. Surgical, Bausch + Lomb, said in the release. “The FreeFlow system was specifically designed to provide surgeons with a stable surgical environment with the advent of extremely efficient vitreous removal technology across all gauges.”
