The FDA is warning against the use of products intended to be sterile from Pacifico National Inc., which does business as AmEx Pharmacy, according to a press release.

A May inspection of the company’s Melbourne, Florida, facility found conditions that could cause contamination and a lack of sterility. The FDA recommended a recall of all unexpired drugs intended to be sterile and ceasing production of sterile products until corrective actions are taken. However, AmEx Pharmacy has not initiated a recall, the release said.

Physicians who have drugs prepared by the pharmacy are asked not to use them or provide them to patients.
