Long-time Lighthouse leader Alan R. Morse to retire

After more than 50 years of association with the Lighthouse Guild, its president and CEO Alan R. Morse, JD, PhD, will retire this year.
Morse started with The Jewish Guild for the Blind in 1968. In 1977 he was named COO, and in 1998 he began tenure as president and CEO. In 2013, he led the merger between the organization and Lighthouse International, forming Lighthouse Guild, according to a press release.
“Dr. Morse is an innovator with a deep commitment to providing quality programs and services for people with vision loss. His leadership has changed how we as a society think about blindness and low vision. ... He has made an indelible impact on the history of our organization and the direction of low vision care,” James M. Dubin, Lighthouse board chairman, said.
Lighthouse guild is conducting a national search for Morse’s successor.
