VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Zeiss Medical Technology Segment launched the Plex Elite 2.0, the first dual-speed swept-source OCT/OCTA that scans at 200 kHz, at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting.

Plex Elite 2.0 allows for faster, deeper and higher-resolution imaging of the eye and has varying speeds available for different disease states, according to a press release. Its deeper view of the retina allows physicians to fully image posterior staphylomas, retinal detachments, high myopia and choroidal tumors.

“The launch of Plex Elite 2.0 is a major step forward in the evolution of swept-source OCT/OCTA,” Jim Mazzo, Carl Zeiss Meditec global president of ophthalmic devices, said in the release. “It is another example of our continued commitment to clinical research and building technology to benefit patients.”
