GoCheck, the creator of the vision screening iPhone app GoCheck Kids, has completed $6 million in Series B funding, the company announced in a press release.
Led by FCA Venture Partners, the funding will be used to add artificial intelligence capabilities and electronic health record integrations to the app, the release said.
“Many childhood eye diseases, including amblyopia, myopia, hyperopia and even retinoblastoma, are not readily apparent or easily diagnosed by health care professionals,” David Huang, MD, PhD, co-founder and chief information officer of GoCheck, said in the release. “Instrument-based vision screening has proven effective in identifying vision issues in children; however, it is cost-prohibitive for many pediatricians. We are changing this dynamic by bringing pediatric vision screening into the digital age.”
Mucker Capital, Sovereign’s Capital, InterWest Partners and Marc Benioff also participated in the funding round.
