Lupin Pharmaceuticals has voluntarily recalled 43,860 bottles of moxifloxacin ophthalmic solution due to failed impurities or degradation specifications, according to an FDA Enforcement Report.

Used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis, the antibiotic was distributed in the United States by five wholesalers, six drug chains, four mail-order pharmacies and one mail-order pharmacy/supermarket, the FDA report said.

The class III recall, in which use of the product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences, affects lot numbers H705562, H705563 and H800616.
