Alimera posts quarterly net loss
Alimera Sciences reported a net loss of $4 million in the second quarter of 2018 compared with a net loss of $2.8 million in the previous year’s second quarter.
Net revenues in the United States decreased to $8 million from $8.1 million in 2017, while international revenues increased by 26% from $2.3 million to $2.9 million, according to a press release.
General and administrative expenses for the quarter went up 7% from $3 million to $3.2 million, research, development and medical affairs expenses increased by 27% from $2.2 million to $2.8 million, and sales and marketing expenses went up 16% from $5.1 million to $5.9 million.
The company had $16.7 million in cash and cash equivalents as of June 30.
