Regeneron net income increases in second quarter

Regeneron reported a net income of $551 million, or $5.12 per basic share, in 2018’s second quarter compared with $388 million, or $3.66 per basic share, in the same time period of 2017, according to a press release.
Total revenues were $1.608 billion in the quarter, an increase of 9% from 2017’s second quarter revenues of $1.47 billion.
Product sales increased from $924 million in the second quarter of 2017 to $996 million this year.
Research and development costs were $529 million compared with $510 million a year ago, while selling, general and administrative expenses were $365 million compared with $307 million.
