Retina-AI has released Fluid Intelligence, the first artificial intelligence mobile app for eye care providers, the company announced in a press release.

Fluid Intelligence detects macular edema and subretinal fluid on OCT retinal scans with accuracy above 90%, the release said.

The app allows eye care professionals to take a picture of an OCT retinal scan and provides an assessment from that photo. It uses machine learning AI algorithms running in the cloud, according to the release.

“We are proud to be the very first in eye care in the world to bring the power of AI to mobile devices in the clinic,” Stephen G. Odaibo, MD, Retina-AI founder, CEO and chief software architect, said in the release. “Our overall goal is to increase access to high-quality specialized retina care around the world.”
