The G-Probe Illuminate glaucoma device from Iridex has received a CE mark and is now available in Europe, according to a company press release.

The G-Probe Illuminate, with combined transillumination and laser fiber for targeted transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, is the third probe in the Cyclo G6 glaucoma laser system.

It can be used in the operating room or as an outpatient office-based procedure for treating glaucoma, according to the release. It was launched in the United States in early 2017 when it received FDA clearance.

“The prevalence of glaucoma is only increasing around the world, and Iridex is committed to improving and expanding the therapeutic options for both patients and surgeons,” Iridex CEO William M. Moore said in the release.
