WAILEA, Hawaii — Jack T. Holladay, MD, MSEE received the Hawaiian Eye Comprehensive Program’s Speaker of the Day for Monday.

Attendees most likely voted for Holladay because of his clear explanation of a complex topic, namely the causes, prevention and treatment of negative dysphotopsia.

Retina 2018 and the Hawaiian Eye Administrator Program and the Nursing & Allied Health Program all kicked off on Monday.

Rishi P. Singh, MD, was awarded Speaker of the Day for Retina 2018. Singh presented “Intraoperative and Perioperative OCT.”

Paul M. Larson, MBA, MMSc , COMT, COE, CPC, CPMA, received Speaker of the Day for the Administrator Program. Monday was Reimbursement Day. Larson gave two talks: “Financial Waivers, ABNs, and Predetermination of Benefits” and “Appeals Process for Audits.”

Rhonda G. Waldron, MMSc , COMT, CRA, ROUB, CDOS, received Speaker of the Day for the Nursing & Allied Health Program of Hawaiian Eye. Monday was Anterior Segment/Cornea Day. Waldron’s presentation was “Ultrasound Biomicroscopy (UBM): Anterior Segment Pathology.
