The owner families of Haag-Streit announced their decision to sell the majority of their shares in the Haag-Streit Group to the Metall Zug Group, a group of affiliated industrial companies headquartered in Zug, Switzerland.

The transaction, subject to certain conditions such as the approval of antitrust authorities, is expected to close at the end of February or beginning of March, according to an announcement posted on the Haag-Streit website.

Metall Zug has about 4,000 employees and three divisions, with Haag-Streit becoming a fourth division upon the completion of the transaction. It will have its own market presence, and the brand identity will remain unchanged, according to the announcement.
