Second Sight Medical Products reported a net loss of $6.7 million, or $0.12 per share, in the third quarter of 2017 compared with a net loss of $8.5 million, or $0.20 per share, in the same quarter of last year, according to a press release.
Total revenue increased from $1.2 million in 2016’s third quarter to $1.6 million in 2017’s third quarter, which was attributed to a higher revenue per Argus II implant due to the higher CMS reimbursement rate.
Total operating expenses for the quarter rose from $7.1 million to $7.4 million due to higher personnel and consulting costs.
