Novartis reported net sales of $11.5 billion in the first quarter compared with $11.6 billion in the same quarter of 2016, according to a press release.
Net income was reported at $1.7 million, a decrease from $2 million in 2016’s first quarter.
Alcon sales were $1.4 billion, which was the same as last year.
There was an operating loss of $43 million for Alcon compared with an income of $31 million in 2016’s first quarter, while core operating income was reported at $187 million compared with $243 million in 2016.
