32nd APAO Congress 2017 in Singapore

The Scientific Program Committee of the 32nd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress is dedicated to showcasing the latest discoveries, innovations and practices in ophthalmology. The full details of the scientific program are now available online at http://2017.apaophth.org/schedule/.
The Opening Ceremony of the 32nd APAO Congress will be held on Thursday, March 2, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will feature a special percussion performance and the presentation of four prestigious APAO Named Awards: Jose Rizal Medal, APAO ICO Mark Tso Golden Apple Award, Holmes Lecture and Nakajima Award. Five special lectures from various ophthalmology societies and institutions in Singapore will also be presented during the ceremony: College of Ophthalmologists Lectureship, Singapore Society of Ophthalmology Named Lecture, Richard Fan Lectureship Award (Singapore National Eye Centre), Hong Leong Professorship Lecture (National University Hospital) and Victor Yong Lecture (Tan Tock Seng Hospital).
Scheduled immediately before and after the Opening Ceremony are the two APAO Plenary Sessions, which feature five highly respected experts in ophthalmology from around the world, as outlined below.

CME for APAO 2017
The APAO Congress Secretariat is pleased to announce that APAO 2017 is fully accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Delegates who attend the congress may receive up to 21 European CME credits.

Additionally, after the completion of the Congress, delegates may print certificates of attendance after logging in to the Congress system using their APAO ID.

Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grants
After reviewing submissions from a number of qualified applicants, the APAO Secretariat is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 APAO Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grants. A total of 10 recipients were chosen as shown below:

Each successful applicant will receive US$1,000 if they live outside the host country of the 32nd APAO Congress (ie, Singapore) whereas those who live in the host country will receive US$300.
