Optotek Medical announced in a press release that its newest laser, the OptoSLT Nano, has received CE mark approval and is now commercially available.

According to the manufacturer, this laser sets a new standard for selective laser trabeculoplasty, using a shorter pulse duration of 1 nanosecond, energy levels of 0.2 mJ to 2 mJ, and solid-state diode-pumped technology for faster and safer SLT procedures.

A 635 nm red diode beam aims at delivering focused energy for predictable treatments, the release said. Other features include high portability and the possibility to be integrated into most Haag-Streit-type slit lamps.

Optotek Medical is based in Slovenia and specializes in laser technologies.
