CHICAGO — OD-OS introduced its new compact Navilas laser system to non-U.S. markets here at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting.
The Navilas 577s, a retinal photocoagulator with a digital fundus camera, is to be used in retinal laser treatments, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ocular pathology in the posterior segment, according to a company press release.
“With the recent extension to include ultra-widefield imaging for superfast and precisely delivered PRP treatment and a tissue-friendly microsecond pulsed laser with its unique digital documentation function, Navilas makes slit-lamp-based laser finally obsolete,” Winfried Teiwes, MD, managing director of OD-OS, said in the release.
The Navilas 577s is not cleared for distribution in the U.S.
