Moorfields Pharmaceuticals has been purchased from Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust by Rayner.

Rayner is planning to launch a specialist ophthalmic pharmaceuticals division, expanding its European presence, and bought Moorfields for an undisclosed price in order to accomplish this, according to a press release from Rayner.

“[T]he acquisition of Moorfields Pharmaceuticals will enable us to offer an even wider range of ophthalmic tools that aid and streamline the surgical process whilst remaining focused on the visual outcome for the patient,” Rayner CEO Tim Clover said in the release.

Moorfields Pharmaceuticals employees will continue to be based in London but will transfer to Rayner.
