6th Asia-Pacific Eye Care Week

APAO is pleased to announce that the 6th Asia-Pacific Eye Care Week will be held during the second week of October, from Oct. 10 to 16, in conjunction with World Sight Day 2016 on Oct. 13.

The APAO Public Education Standing Committee has partnered with the Central Secretariat to identify two major themes for the event: “Cornea Infections in Asia” and “Diabetic Macular Edema.” Two of APAO’s subspecialty member societies, the Asia Cornea Society and Asia-Pacific Vitreo-retina Society, will help co-organize the 2016 Eye Care Week and produce a comprehensive set of educational materials and a media kit, which will be available on the APAO website at http://www.apaophth.org/sixth-asia-pacific-eye-care-week. Member societies are invited to use these materials for public educational purposes during the 6th Asia-Pacific Eye Care Week. Where appropriate, the educational materials and media kit can be translated into the local language for more effective communication.

After the Asia-Pacific Eye Care Week comes to an end, APAO encourages all member societies to share photos and highlights of the activities held in their region via email to sydneystonner@apaophth.org. Details of the different member society events will then be posted to the APAO website and published in OSN APAO Edition.
