The FDA has cleared the 3-D OCT-1 Maestro system in the U.S., Topcon Medical Systems announced in a press release.
The Maestro system combines a high-resolution color nonmydriatic retinal camera with SD-OCT technology and is equipped with PinPoint registration, which indicates the location of the OCT image within the fundus image.
The Maestro system also features a compare function, automatic segmentation of the optic nerve and macula in a 12-mm by 9-mm scan, as well as an extensive reference database, according to the release.
“The Maestro has been one of the best-selling SD-OCTs outside the U.S. for the past 2 years,” John Fujita, president of Topcon, said in the release, adding that Topcon has sold more than 10,000 OCT units globally.
