Net earnings totaled $615 million compared with $784 million in the second quarter of 2015, while operating earnings totaled $816 million compared with $729 million a year ago.

Medical Optics reported total sales of $307 million in the second quarter, a 6.2% increase on a reported basis and a 5.4% increase on an operational basis compared with the second quarter of 2015.
