This year, the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology is proud to co-sponsor the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s annual meeting, which will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago from Oct. 15 to 18. For AAO members, registration and hotel reservations opened June 22; they will open on July 13 for non-members.

Future APAO Congresses
In 2018, the 33rd APAO Congress will be held in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Feb. 8 to 11. There has not been an APAO Congress in Hong Kong since it was held in conjunction with the World Ophthalmology Congress in 2008.
APAO is pleased to announce that the Academy’s 34th Congress will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2019, co-hosted by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand. The Congress theme will be “Bridging the Gaps in Ophthalmology.” The last APAO Congress held in Bangkok was the 19th Congress in 2003.
In 2020, the 35th annual APAO Congress will return to Auckland, New Zealand, which has not hosted a Congress since 1972. The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists will serve as co-host of the event with the theme “Seeing the Future of Ophthalmology.”
Dates for the 2019 and 2020 Congresses have not yet been finalized, although they will likely be held sometime in March. For more information about upcoming events, please visit APAO’s meeting calendar at http://www.apaophth.org/congress/calendar.
