Last autumn I began my rotation in oculoplastic surgery. I came across several great books covering the topic, but I was also interested in seeing the procedures in action. Some of the books came with video material, which was great but limited, so I decided to take a deeper look at a website called Oculoplastics.info.

The site has more than 50 high-quality video recordings made and narrated by Mr. Richard Caesar, an oculoplastic surgeon practicing in the UK. It is very well organized and divided into different chapters, starting with the basics and then proceeding to teach specific procedures. I intentionally use the word “teach” here because the videos are much more than mere descriptions of surgical steps. Mr. Caesar, in a calm and clear manner, also covers the fundamentals behind each procedure and gives tips and tricks along the way about how to succeed in the operating theater.

Best of all, using the site is completely free of charge. It is mobile friendly, although I had some trouble watching the videos on my Android phone. Luckily, all the videos are hosted on Vimeo.com under Ric Caesar, where they ran smoothly and were even available for Chromecast for those who want to enjoy the videos on a big screen.

Oculoplastics.info is an essential resource for anyone seeking to improve his or her skills in oculoplastic surgery. The videos excel in both content and recording quality, and amazingly, the site is completely free of charge to use.
