Following the issuance of the European CE mark, Visiometrics announced the comercial launch of the HD Analyzer.

“We are pleased to have achieved this milestone and are excited to bring this technology to Europe. The HD Analyzer has been well received by U.S. ophthalmologists, and we anticipate a similar reaction from European ophthalmologists,” Jan Bonel, Visiometrics CEO, said in a press release. “The HD Analyzer gives ophthalmologists the ability to go beyond traditional means of vision assessment, which is increasingly important in today’s ophthalmology practice.”

The diagnostic system uses a punctual light source imaged on the retina by means of double-pass retinal imaging. The system analyzes the size and shape of the light to determine the higher order aberrations and scattered light. Users are provided with point spread function, an objective scattering index, as well as the modulation transfer function, according to the release.
