Abbott reported $20.4 billion in worldwide sales for 2015, a 9.1% increase on an operational basis and a 0.8% increase on a reported basis compared with 2014, according to a press release.

Worldwide sales were reported at $5.2 billion in the fourth quarter, a 4.9% increase on an operational basis and a 3.1% increase on a reported basis compared with the fourth quarter of 2014.

In the fourth quarter, Medical Optics worldwide sales totaled $300 million, a 1.9% increase on an operational basis and a 4.1% increase on a reported basis compared with the previous year. Growth in operational sales was mainly attributed to new cataract products in the premium IOL segment but was partially offset by market dynamics in the refractive business, the release said.

Medical Optics sales for 2015 totaled $1.13 billion, a 0.6% increase on an operational basis and a 6.9% increase on a reported basis compared with 2014.
