APAO ID offered to congress participants, members of societies
The Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology will assign an ID to each of its previous congress participants and members of its member societies who have a valid email address. One can sign up for the APAO annual congress and other events that APAO organizes much more easily with an APAO ID without the hassle of creating and maintaining multiple accounts for each APAO congress. You can upload a profile picture and a biography, which can be used for networking or applying for various APAO grants and programs in the near future. You will only have to edit your profile with your APAO ID, and other systems using your profile will be updated automatically. The use of the new APAO ID will be extended to the APAO online education system and to access the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, the official journal of the academy, in due course. All you have to do is go to http://id.apaophth.org and sign up with your email address. You will then receive an activation email that enables you to update your profile.

Run for Nepal
Nepal was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on April 25, with a second strike of comparable magnitude on May 12. The earthquake combined with the dozens of aftershocks killed more than 8,000 people and left thousands homeless and injured. To assist in the relief efforts, APAO is organizing a “Run for Nepal” on March 6, 2016, during the 31st APAO Congress in Chinese Taipei. Participants will join a 5-km power run at Dajia Riverside Park, Taipei. Each participant is committed to raising at least US$200 for Nepal. Interested participants can download an entry form at http://2016.apaophth.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/APAO-2016-Para-Run-Entry-Form_20150528.pdf. After submitting an entry form, participants will receive a sponsorship form, which is also available at http://2016.apaophth.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Sponsorship-Form20150528.pdf. If your sponsors require a donation receipt, please email us at secretariat@apaophth.org for a donation receipt. All proceeds will go to the Nepal Ophthalmic Society, which is organizing relief efforts for the needy in Nepal.
