FLORENCE, Italy — At the FLOREtina meeting, Manish Nagpal, MD, explains chandelier-based buckling surgery, a variation of classic scleral buckling using chandelier light and vitrectomy contact lenses instead of the indirect ophthalmoscope. This alternative technique might be appealing for surgeons who are used to the vitrectomy viewing system and allows for easier, more controlled surgery with better vision.
