Misleading advertisement about Pentacam prohibited in European Union

The District Court in The Hague, Netherlands, ruled that i-Optics is to refrain from using “misleading and defamatory advertisements” in reference to the Pentacam in the European Union, according to a press release from Oculus.

The order against i-Optics includes a notification to be posted on its website for 2 months. The note reads:

“Rectification

We have suggested that Cassini offers superior precision, trueness and accuracy compared to our closest competitor. By judgement of 6th August 2015 the District Court at The Hague has preliminarily ruled that we cannot substantiate the claim and has forbidden us to further make this claim.”

Oculus said it will defend itself against any similar misleading and defamatory marketing statements made outside of the European Union as well, according to the release.
