Eydie Miller-Ellis, MD, named president of JCAHPO

The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology has named Eydie Miller-Ellis, MD, as the organization’s 24th president, according to a press release.

“I am honored to serve as JCAHPO’s president for the next 2 years and look forward to leading the organization into a future that draws on, substantiates and continues JCAHPO’s history as a visionary in the field of allied ophthalmic health certification and education,” Miller-Ellis said in the release. “I am privileged to serve as the chief volunteer and strive to advance the standards set by my prestigious predecessors.”

Miller-Ellis is a professor of clinical ophthalmology and director of the glaucoma service at Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, where she specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex glaucoma.

Miller-Ellis will be installed on Nov. 13 during the organization’s annual meeting in Las Vegas.
