STAAR Surgical reported $18.7 million in net sales in the second quarter, a 7% decline from $20 million in the same quarter of 2014, according to a press release.
The decline in sales was attributed to foreign currency changes, lower IOL unit sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and lower ICL unit sales in Korea, the release said.
Net loss was reported at $1.6 million, or $0.04 per share, in the second quarter compared with $1.8 million, or $0.05 per share, in the same quarter of 2014.
Operating expenses were reported at $14.1 million in the second quarter compared with $15.1 million in the same quarter of 2014, which was due to lower general and administrative expenses and lower marketing and selling expenses.
