Lensar has received CE mark from European Union regulators for a suite of five new application technologies integrated into the Lensar laser system with Streamline, according to a company release.

The upgrades include wireless integration with certain topographers, iris registration, cataract density imaging, customized fragmentation patterns and arcuate incision planning, the release said.

“The Streamline upgrades to the Lensar laser system include innovative integration of functions to allow surgeons to fully automate and customize critical planning and execution of steps of refractive cataract surgery for the first time,” Nicholas T. Curtis, CEO of Lensar, said in the release.

Lensar received 510(k) clearance from the FDA in the U.S. for the Streamline upgrades earlier this year.

Topcon Europe B.V. will manage in-market rollout of the Lensar laser system with Streamline in Europe, the release said.
