CORONADO, Calif. — Carl Zeiss Meditec announced the global launch of the Humphrey Field Analyzer 3, a new iteration of its established perimetry platform, at the American Glaucoma Society meeting here.

According to a company press release, the HFA3 features patented liquid lens technology, which is designed to save time and improve efficiency.

“Test results on the new platform are equal to and interchangeable with results from prior generations of the HFA, providing continuity and certainty in the ongoing care of patients,” the release said.

The HFA3 features RelEYE technology, which allows the physician to instantly review the patient’s eye position at any stimulus point. RelEYE data can show common testing problems such as ptosis or misalignment of the eye in relation to the trial lens holder.

The device also features a SmartTouch interface, which reduces the number of steps the technician must perform to begin a perimetry examination. The gaze tracker enables rapid initialization and works on a wider range of patients than earlier versions of the HFA, the release said.

Additionally, a kinetic graphical user interface offers a 180° field of view.
