ASOPRS elects Kathleen F. Archer, MD, as president for 2015

Kathleen F. Archer, MD, has been elected president of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for 2015, according to a press release.
Archer has been a fellow member since 1990 and has served as the organization’s president-elect, vice president, secretary and assistant secretary of education, and chair and assistant chair of the continuing medical education committee. She has also been a member of the ASOPRS Foundation board of trustees since 2011, the release said.
“Dr. Archer values her commitment to assist ASOPRS in furthering the society’s mission of education for oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeons,” the release said. “She sees an important focus during her presidency as assuring access to appropriate quality medical care for both patients and physicians.”
Archer is in private clinical practice in Houston.
The other 2015 officers of ASOPRS are Robert A. Goldberg, MD, FACS, president-elect; Gerald J. Harris, MD, FACS, vice president; Jemshed A. Khan, MD, treasurer; and Shannath L. Merbs, MD, PhD, FACS, executive secretary.
