DigiSight Technologies raised $7.8 million in a Series B financing round, according to a press release.

Biosys Capital, Waycross Ventures, GE Ventures and Lagunita LLC joined existing investors in the financing.

Proceeds from the financing will go toward the development of the DigiSight Network, the company’s core technology, which creates a secure connection for moving data into clinical settings from mobile devices, and other specialized remote monitoring technologies, the release said.

The DigiSight Network allows patients to generate ophthalmic data with their mobile devices and share that data with physicians, which gives physicians insight into patients' performance outside of office examinations, the release said.
