OD-OS received FDA 510(k) clearance to market its Navilas 577+ ophthalmic laser system, according to a company release.

Navilas 577+ is equipped with a yellow 577 nm laser system that performs “tissue-friendly” navigated microsecond-pulsed treatments, the release said.

“With Navilas, a large number of invisible low intensity laser effects can be applied rapidly and precisely to the retina without undesired gaps or overlap,” Winfried Teiwes, PhD, CEO of OD-OS, said in the release.

The Navilas 577+ is a retinal photocoagulator integrated with a digital fundus camera used for treatment and imaging.
