Henderson receives Suzanne Véronneau-Troutman Award
CHICAGO — Women in Ophthalmology presented the Suzanne Véronneau-Troutman Award to Bonnie A. Henderson, MD, during the Women in Ophthalmology/Ophthalmic Women Leaders reception here.
The award is presented to an ophthalmologist for accomplishments during the previous year that have helped advance the position of women in ophthalmology.

“[Henderson] is one of the most highly respected ophthalmologists in the field of cataract surgery and education, and she is one of the few women regularly invited to speak or moderate scientific sessions,” Mildred M. G. Olivier, MD, president of WIO, said during the reception.
The reception also featured a panel discussion, “It Takes a Village: Integrated Approach to Quality Care,” which focused on the importance of working together to achieve a higher level of quality patient care.
The panel was moderated by Jane Rady, divisional vice president of business, development and communications at Abbott Medical Optics, and panel members included Linda Christmann, MD, MBA; Nick Tarantino, OD; Lisa B. Arbisser, MD, and Candace Cantonese.
