Iridex Q2 revenue up 15% from 2013

Iridex reported revenues were $10.6 million in the second quarter of 2014, up 15% from $9.2 million in the second quarter of last year, according to a company press release.

The revenues for the first 6 months of 2014 were $20.9 million, up from 15% from $18.1 million in the first 6 months of last year, according to the release.

Gross margin also increased from 48.7% in the second quarter of last year to 50% this year.

Iridex reported an operating income of $0.4 million, compared with $0.5 million during the same period last year.

The company’s net income was $0.3 million, or $0.03 per diluted share, compared with the $0.4 million or $0.04 per diluted share net income in last year’s second quarter.

Iridex has reported it anticipates a revenue of $10 million to $10.3 million, and gross margin between 48% and 50%, with operating expenses expected at $4.6 million to $4.8 million, according to the release.
