Bausch + Lomb launches IOL injector system in US

Bausch + Lomb has launched BLIS, an injector system for the enVista glistening-free hydrophobic acrylic IOL, in the United States, according to a press release.

BLIS, which stands for Bausch + Lomb Injector System, comes with a reusable hand piece and a single-use cartridge, which will allow surgeons to perform safe, controlled delivery of the enVista IOL through unenlarged phaco incisions as small as 2.2 mm, the release said.

BLIS received Health Canada approval in August 2013 and CE mark approval in October 2013, the release said. Additional approvals are pending.
