Ellex Medical Lasers will debut its Rapide Pattern Scanning Photocoagulator to European audiences during the 13th Euretina Congress, beginning today in Hamburg, according to a news release.

The system uses two high-speed galvanometers scanning at 4 KHz. It can deliver up to 2,000 laser shots during panretinal photocoagulation in less than 7 minutes, including the time it takes to prepare the patient, the release said.

Physicians can also use Rapide in single-shot mode or use one of a number of patterns and pattern variations, according to the release.
