Korea and Argentina have granted regulatory approvals to STAAR Surgical to market the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens with CentraFLOW technology, according to a press release.

CentraFLOW is designed to improve the flow of fluid within the eye, the release said. It eliminates the need for a YAG peripheral iridotomy several days before the Visian ICL is implanted.

For myopia, the Visian ICL with CentraFLOW is approved for –0.5 D to –18 D. For the toric ICL models, cylinder power ranges from +0.5 D to +6 D, according to the release.
