Ed Peterson, president and CEO of AcuFocus, will resign effective April 30, according to a company news release.

Jim Mazzo, who assumed the role of executive chair in January, will oversee the executive team while the board of directors begins to search for a successor to Peterson, who founded AcuFocus more than a decade ago, the release said.

Peterson will assist the company through the transition.
