Pallimed recalls all sterile compound products
Pallimed Solutions, doing business as Pallimed Pharmacy, has recalled all sterile compound products dispensed since Jan. 1, 2013, due to the presence of visible particulates in several vials of different products, according to press releases from the company and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The products, used for ophthalmic preparations and other therapeutic uses, are packaged in glass vials and were distributed through March 22 in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported due to the particulates. Because the matter has not been identified, potential health risks are unknown, but particulates may obstruct or damage blood vessels or cause reactions to the foreign material.
All users who received the products have been or will be notified. To return products or for more information, visit www.pallimed.com or call 781-937-3344.
