The Lenstar LS900 optical biometer from Haag-Streit now includes the Masket and Modified Masket IOL calculation formulas following software update version 5.0, according to a company news release.

The new formulas are recommended for patients who had laser refractive surgery with a history of the refractive changes caused by the laser surgical procedures.

The Masket method offers reliable IOL power calculations for post-myopic and hyperopic laser refractive surgery patients and uses the patient’s clinical history.

The Modified Masket formula alters the IOL power calculation using the Holladay I formula, according to the release.

The biometer already features the Shammas no-history formula, designed for IOL prediction in cases in which there are no clinical histories.
