Alcon has announced hardware and software upgrades for its Infiniti Vision System to provide more control during cataract surgery, according to a press release.

Part of the upgrade includes the Intrepid AutoSert IOL Injector to automate delivery of IOLs. The upgrade allows for better IOL insertion control, support for all standard incision sizes and foot pedal control for globe stabilization.

The hardware and software upgrades will be available worldwide in the first half of 2013. Customers can incorporate the software upgrade into their current systems.
