Carl Zeiss Meditec reports growth in all units and regions for fiscal year

Carl Zeiss Meditec reported revenue of €861.9 million for the financial year ending Sept. 30, an increase of 13.6% over the previous year and slightly above the revenue forecast, according to a company news release.

There was an 18.7% increase in earnings before interest and tax, reaching €122.9 million, the release said. Profitability was increased because the earnings before interest and tax margin increased to 14.3%, compared with 13.6% a year ago.

The company reported an 8.7% increase in revenue over the previous year from ophthalmic systems, a 17.5% increase from surgical ophthalmology and a 17.8% increase from microsurgery.

The Asia-Pacific region had a 15.8% increase in revenue over the previous year, the Americas region had a 14.2% increase, and the Europe-Middle East-Africa region had an 11% increase.
