Electronic health records software firm Medflow has partnered with Zubisoft to launch the Cataract and Refractive Lens Outcome Analysis system, Medflow announced in a news release.

The new system will enable Medflow to feed exam data directly into Zubisoft’s Internet Based Refractive Analysis system, which analyzes, compares, improves and predicts refractive and visual outcomes after cataract surgery and also facilitates A-constant optimization, including IOL type, axial length and biometry type, according to the release.

“Because surgeons can access the data over an encrypted Internet connection, they have permanent access to the patient’s data, independent of time and location for their pre-assessment, the operation and the follow-up,” Jim Riggi, CEO of Medflow, said in the release.

Medflow plans to launch a similar module for analysis of LASIK outcomes on Jan. 1, the release said.
