Revenue continues to rise at Carl Zeiss Meditec
In the first 9 months of its fiscal year, revenue at Carl Zeiss Meditec rose to €630.8 million, a 13.6% increase compared with a year ago, according to a news release. The company expects full-year revenue of €830 million to €860 million, meeting its forecast.
“In spite of an increasingly difficult situation in the global economy, we achieved a solid result, with double-digit revenue growth, and stick firmly to our revenue forecast for the year as a whole,” Ludwin Monz, PhD, MBA, president and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec, said in the release.
Growth was led by the microsurgery unit, which had a 21.6% increase in revenue over the same period last year. The surgical ophthalmology unit had a 13.3% increase in revenue, while the ophthalmic systems unit had a 6.1% increase, according to the release.
The Americas region had a 14.1% gain in revenue over the same period last year, the release said. The Asia-Pacific region increased by 13.7%, and the Europe-Middle East-Africa region rose by 12.9%.
