Under the leadership of Stephen Ryan, MD, the WOC organizing committee has developed a first-class scientific program covering all the 28 subspecialty areas in ophthalmology.
"WOC 2008 is an important event for Hong Kong, and we are most pleased to have Mr. Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, to officiate the opening of the Congress on the morning of June 29, 2008 (Sunday)," said Dennis S.C. Lam, MD, FRCOphth, WOC 2008 president and organizing committee chairman, in a letter to Ocular Surgery News.
"The Gala Dinner will be held on the same evening at the Grand Hall of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, which overlooks the world-famous Victoria Harbor. In addition to the spectacular night harbor view, we have prepared for you very special oriental-featured performances. The Gala Dinner can accommodate 2,500 delegates, and it provides you a unique opportunity to make friends and network with colleagues from around the globe," he said.
