Wills Eye Knowledge Portal to offer online ophthalmic education

PHILADELPHIA — Wills Eye Institute is launching a Web-based educational tool featuring online lectures, surgical videos and case studies in all ophthalmic subspecialties.

The Wills Eye Knowledge Portal is scheduled for launch this spring, Julia A. Haller, MD, said here at the Wills Eye Institute Alumni Conference.

"The institute is putting a tremendous amount of effort and financial support for the benefit of our larger community," Dr. Haller said. "We're very excited about it. The Wills Eye Knowledge Portal is our first real push into the Internet space."

Lectures and videos will feature Wills Eye faculty and staff and other experts. Users will have the opportunity to earn continuing medical education credits, Dr. Haller said.

Wills Eye alumni may register for a free 2-month trial by visiting www.willseyeonline.org.
